The 5 Major Benefits Of BCAAs

Building muscle, burning fat or whatever your goal is would be so much easier if you weren’t feeling so sore all the time right?

Instead you ache, crackle and pop at just the slightest movement.

You keep having to take days off because you’re just too sore to train and your results are suffering.

I used to be the same.

Until I discovered BCAA powders:

A good BCAA powder is going to help you;

  1. Recover faster
  2. Train harder
  3. Build muscle
  4. Burn fat
  5. And get in the best shape of your life

My First Time Using A BCAA Powder

It must have been 10 years ago now.

I was doing the P90X workout program and a few weeks in I was about ready to quit.

I was so sore I couldn’t even bend over to tie my shoes.

That’s when a friend recommended I get some BCAAs.

Back then the only good BCAA powder supplement available was Xtend by Scivation who’re still going strong today.

Anyway to cut a long story short:

I mixed a scoop of Xtend with some water and to my amazement I woke up the next day with no soreness at all.

Instead of feeling sore all the time I was able to push harder during my workouts knowing that I wasn’t going to feel like I’d been hit by a truck next morning.

Thanks to BCAAs I was quickly able to get in the best shape of my life.

I’ve been using them ever since.

But there’s a problem.

Many of them just plain suck.

Over the years I’ve tried around 50+ BCAA supplements and they can be very hit and miss.

So here are the 3 best BCAA powder supplements that actually work:

The 3 Best BCAA Powder Supplements Of 2018

  • Next day delivery

  • Only 0.49 cents per serving!

The Bad

  • Only flavor is Cherry Burst. (Tastes good though.)

  • Not available on Amazon. (Still has next day delivery though.)

  • More expensive than other powders per bottle. But works out cheaper per serving.

Battle Ready Fuel Review:

Battle Ready Fuel is a relatively new company but they already offer an impressive line of health and fitness supplements.

The leader of the Battle Ready Fuel company is Ollie Ollerton.

You may have heard of him as he’s the star of a hit tv show in the UK called SAS: Who Dares Wins

Although Ollie and the BRF company is from the UK they ship worldwide and mine was delivered in less than 24 hours.

They create top quality supplements that even elite soldiers can use.

(They even have discounts for those in the military.)

So let’s talk about the actual supplement and why it’s our number 1 pick:

  • It’s suitable for men and women.
  • The best I’ve ever used for recovery and reducing soreness.
  • Very effective at improving workout performance. (You can really feel the boost)

Before this one came out my number 1 pick was Xtend which I’ve now moved down to number 2.

I can tell you without a doubt that this is the best BCAA powder I have ever tried.

Why’s that?

I used the Battle Ready Fuel BCAA powder for a full month and trained my ass off.

Here’s the benefits I noticed;

  • My joints felt smoother.
  • I felt energized during and after my workouts
  • I didn’t feel any soreness the next morning even after a grueling workout
  • It was nice to sip on during workouts and I felt like I was more explosive during workouts
  • You get 90 servings per container
  • It works out the cheapest at only $0.49 per serving

Without a doubt this is the best BCAA powder I have ever used.

Right now the only downside is that it only comes in Cherry Burst flavor.

It tastes good but it would be nice if there were more options.

Many BCAA powders have an overpoweringly sweet taste.

Some of them taste so sweet it’s almost disgusting.

In my opinion this one is just right.

It isn’t overloaded with natural sweeteners and it genuinely tastes quite refreshing.

It tastes extra good if you blend it with some frozen berries and ice after a gruelling workout.

Zero Carbs:

Some BCAA powders contain hidden sugars which can be very annoying for those following a low carb diet.

Fortunately this one contains zero carbs.

5 Grams Of Added Protein:

BCAAs are most effective when combined with protein.

Repairing and growing muscle requires protein.

That extra 5 grams goes a long way.

  • Leucine: 3.3 grams
  • Valine: 825mg
  • Isoleucine: 825mg

When it comes to BCAAs the most important and beneficial is Leucine.

Leucine is the one that’s going to increase protein synthesis which helps with recovery and muscle growth.

This one contains a whopping 3.3 grams of Leucine per scoop.

Value For Money:

Here’s where things get even better.

The initial price is more expensive than most BCAA powders but per serving it works out a lot cheaper because you get 90 servings per container.

They really are providing great value for money.

Number 2 and 3 on my list are also good BCAA powders but they only provide 30 servings per tub.

And only Xtend can match the amount of Leucine.

With the Battle Ready Fuel BCAA powder you are getting a top quality product and 3 times more of it!

If I could only purchase one BCAA powder from this point onwards it would be this one.

It tastes good, gets the job done and provides the best value for money.

Xtend Review:

One of the first BCAAs I ever tried was Xtend’s BCAA powder and for years it has been one of my “go tos” when other BCAAs were letting me down.

It comes in a range of flavors that that in my opinion are a little too sweet.

There’s also an unflavored version which honestly tastes awful:

pic of inflavored

If on the other hand you have a sweet tooth then you’ll love this!

My Experience Using Xtend:

Xtend by Scivation is an OG when it comes to BCAA powders.

They created a quality product that has stood the test of time.

When I was on the verge of quitting weight training back in the day this powder helped me to recover so much faster and get the results I wanted.

I’ve been using it off and on ever since.

If you’re looking for something that’s going to help you recover faster and get results in the gym then this is a great choice.

Until Battle Ready Fuel came along this was my number 1 pick and I still consider it one of the best BCAA powders for sale.

In the past when other BCAA powders let me down this is the one I’ve always gone back to.

#3 BCAA5000 by Evlution Nutrition

  • Contains 5 grams of BCAAs per serving (2:1:1 ratio)

  • Zero carbs

  • Zero calories

  • Taste’s good

  • Mixes well

  • Price is good

  • Plenty of flavors!

  • Contains Soy

  • Not as effective as top 2 BCAA powders above.

➡️ Where to get it? Available on here

BCAA5000 Ingredients:

  • Leucine: 2500mg
  • Isoleucine: 1250mg
  • Valine: 1250mg
  • Sodium: 8mg

BCAA5000 Review:

Apart from the BCAAs this powder doesn’t contain a lot of other added ingredients so it’s a pure and simple BCAA powder.

At 30 servings per container this powder works out to 0.59 cents per serving.

I couldn’t think of many negatives for this BCAA powder.

Personally I quite like the taste.

It’s not too sweet and it’s not too dull but after reading the Amazon reviews it seems there are a some who love it and some who hate it.

That’s a common theme with BCAA powders.

They all seem to have a love it or hate it taste but at the end of the day we’re not drinking it for fun we’re drinking it to build muscle and recover faster and this product delivers on both of those.

My Experience Using BCAA5000

First of all the packaging is nice. It comes it a small pot and the scoop makes it easy to get the powder out.

The powder feels a little bit chalky to the touch but it seems to mix well with water.

I took a scoop of this during a legs and back workout and it did perk me up a little.

I felt like I had recovered well by the next day too.

So when it comes to recovery it’s good but not as good as Battle Ready Fuel or Xtend but it still got the job 90% done.

It may not be my number 1 pick but this is still a great BCAA supplement and is definitely one to consider. A bottle is cheap too so you won’t lose much by giving it a go.
