- Leucine: Dymatize BCAA contains 2.6 grams of leucine, the amino acid that has been shown to activate protein synthesis and support muscle tissue repair and growth. I like how they provide a bit more leucine than your standard BCAA supplement, but unfortunately, they take away from the other amino acids to make this possible. (1)
- Isoleucine: Excellent for post-workout recovery, valine has been shown to alleviate muscle soreness and get you back in the gym faster. Dymatize provides 1.2 grams of isoleucine and not the standard 1.25 grams. It isn’t much of a difference, but I would have preferred if Dymatize kept the standard BCAA recommendation. (2)
- Valine: Dymatize BCAA provides 1.2 grams of valine, the amino acid that help to prevent muscle catabolism or protein breakdown. (3)
- Artificial Sweeteners and Flavoring: For those who are keeping tabs on artificial sweeteners in their diet, Dymatize BCAA contains sucralose, acesulfame potassium, and erythritol. It also has artificial flavoring.
Dymatize BCAA ReviewsDymatize BCAA has gone through a few formula changes but it manages to keep a strong following. Many buyers note that Dymatize BCAA helps them perform during their workouts and recover faster post-workout. It’s also a great low-calorie option to promote protein synthesis during the night that won’t interfere with sleep. The choice of flavors seems to be a bit of an issue. Even the positive reviews comment that the flavors could use some work. Bad flavoring aside, you’ll be hard pressed to find any other common complaints about Dymatize BCAA.
Should You Buy Dymatize BCAA?I can appreciate Dymatize wanting to have more leucine in their BCAA supplement, but not at the cost of isoleucine and valine. Flavoring could be a potential pain point for some, but the flavoring of a supplement shouldn’t stop you from giving yourself that extra edge. My suggestion would be to buy the unflavored and mix it with juice.
