This ratio of BCAAs has been shown to reduce exercise fatigue, spike protein synthesis, promote muscle growth, and prevent muscle breakdown. (1) Electrolyte Blend (Magnesium, Sodium, Potassium): Electrical messengers required for muscle contraction, electrolytes are quickly depleted during high intensity workouts, resulting in that infamous mid-workout crash. Gold Standard BCAA contains the three most important electrolytes to support performance and recovery. (2) Vitamin C: Considered a powerful antioxidant, vitamin C helps to prevent the immunosuppression or stress on the immune system that occurs during exercise. Optimum Nutrition is one of the veterans of the supplement industry, so they have had decades to perfect their formulas. Their innovation shows with the Gold Standard BCAA, resulting in plenty of satisfied customers. Even the science and research behind the supplement isn’t lost on the ON fanbase. The most common compliments given to Gold Standard BCAA revolve around better workout performance and faster recovery, which isn’t surprising since those are two proven benefits of using BCAAs. The Bad: No great supplement is absent of a few negative reviews. The most common complaints you’ll hear about Gold Standard BCAA are with its flavor and mixability. I would say there are two simple solutions: First, don’t buy the odd-ball flavors. Rarely does a supplement get it right with watermelon, cranberry, or kiwi.
